background image on login page

hi Karl. i would like to change the background image of the login page replacing the black background with this css code but not successful.. please do tell...

hardeyboyz This is the path relative to your servers DOCUMENT ROOT. That is why I can't tell you what it is ... What link are you using to load your website into the browser?

For example, if the link is yourhostname.com and that's it, you can just use _files/css/custom.css.

Actually, it should normally work just with path relative to index.php like this:

<link href="_files/css/custom.css" rel="stylesheet">

Hi Karl, I think I've done the step correctly as per instructed.
1) creating the folder name include under files directory
2) put a file name head.html in it
3) head.html put the this <link href="files/css/custom.css" rel="stylesheet">

yet the css still dont load on login page. maybe now wait till u trying the windows with laragon as per you stated in the other post. hoping for the best..

im using ip address of the server to load the website into the browser e.g : //10.43.2.250/repository/home.php <-- this is the login page

I said "_files/... not "files/... ... That is after all the location where you already had your CSS file.

Not __files/ ... Just _files with a single underscore ...

If that's not working, then it means either the file is not there or permission denied. What does it say when you open browser developer tools > network inspector?

Karl, I tried the modification as indicated and it does not work either, once again, probably because it is a Windows and not a Linux...

stephaneriel72 But then it couldn't possibly have worked earlier. I really can't help if everything is local, and nothing is working, not even a manual fix like suggested ... I have asked you to open browser dev tools for instance, but if you can't do that or do more self-diagnostics, I can't help.

hardeyboyz Why have you added it like this? <html><head><link ... ... Nobody ever told you to include anything else than the <link> tag in that file.

Karl yup you didnt .. that one already removed..sorry..display the wrong head.html file

hardeyboyz That means int he SOURCE of your document, you must now have this:

<link href="_files/css/custom.css" rel="stylesheet">

... and that file must be loading, if it in fact exists. You can check in developer tools > network inspector.
