pete Is it possible to show the time in addition to the date, in the list view?
It would be technically possible, but it's a big layout challenge because the date field suddenly requires a much higher and unknown quantity of horizontal space. We can't just auto-expand date field, because dates have different widths, will differ across languages and will squeeze the other list items beyond any "planned" design, which also has to work nicely on all screen sizes. If the date is custom format (arbitrary width), we have no concept of being able to control the layout. The reason the date format is kept simple and consistent, is so that we can anticipate a complex layout. As an example, here is list layout on iPad:
pete Here's the use case: I took many many pictures yesterday, but I want to look at the one I took at around 3pm.
You could set sort to DATE and use a layout with previews to find approx image visually. Also, you can hover mouse over date field to get the exact time. I can't personally imagine that it's very productive to read though dates "December 30, 2021, 10:11 PM", and it definitely causes more clutter on screen.
Anyway, I understand why this might be useful 😀 It could perhaps work nicely when limited to LARGE screens (and large screens only). The challenge is that I then need to create multiple date fields and toggle them depending on screen size. Also, if you are to assign a custom date format, I simply can't anticipate the width from within the design (as I can now).
For now, the answer is no, but thanks for the request. Food for thought.
