thom Would it be possible to limit the uploads only with the password, while keeping media browsing open to everyone?
Multi-user access (including login and public non-login) will be added in a few months.
thom If not directly configurable like that, I guess I need to install Files 2 times?
That's correct. I wrote a post about this here:
https://forum.files.gallery/d/223-more-logins-with-different-rights/2
thom One time in another directory with root pointing to the former directory, and upload disabled.
I would probably do it the other way around. One main "public" non-login Files Gallery, and then drop Files Gallery in a separate dir configured with login+upload, that points to the same ROOT as public. It seems more secure that the "private" version points to the "public" version, else public visitors will know the path of the private version.
thom Is it the intention to work like that?
Nothing wrong with doing it like the above. In early releases, I only thought about adding basic login option, but now I can see the need for multi-user access.
