temabu Is there any impediment to running files.gallery in an iframe?
I don't think there is anything that prevents you from running Files gallery within an <iframe>
. It could be there are some CSS styles that use vw
(viewport width) affecting the menu, but that would not make any difference if the iframe is embedded at 100% width or if you have disabled the menu.. Of course, <iframe> is not optimal because it's complicated to set the HEIGHT of the iframe container.
temabu Is it possible to have a custom "back" link added to the files.gallery home page to allow a user to return to the calling site?
If you are using an iframe, can't you add this back button into your parent container document? Currently, there are no API options that allow you to add custom buttons into the Files interface. You could perhaps add it into the topbar element that is exposed in the index.php
file, but I'm not sure this will be available in all future releases, so it's not officially supported.
temabu 2a. Can we embed a custom menu within the files.gallery home page to allow the files.gallery to more seamlessly fit the site UX it is used on?
I think the same answer as above applies. You might be able to add it into the topbar element available in index.php
. There is no API for this, although I might add it in a future release.
