What do you mean by that? You can point root
to any path on the server, so it's pointless to use symlinks on root:
'root' => '/any/full/path/on/server',
If you have a symlink that points to the same location, then what's the point of pointing root
to the symlink instead? Having said that, you can point to a symlink from root also. For example:
'root' => './symlink', // the symlink then points to somewhere else
Keep in mind, if your root
location (regardless of symlink or not) points to a location on disk that your server/PHP is not allowed to access, then it will fail.
